First off Jennifer is NOT a progressive… um I’ve listened to months of this show and I can tell you first hand she is more of a moderate than a progressive… if we are embracing labels for a moment. Yeah, sure she likes Obomacare, I don’t, but I know like a few people who do as well, but that is probably her only “Progressive” opinion I can recall she embraces.

Since we are into labels today, I am a Libertarian and I can agree first hand we put too much emphasis and money towards our military. Just, because we have that view point does not mean we some how “lack respect” or cannot “comprehend the protection the military provides to our sorry butts”. I have friends and family in the military, they get my respect and I thank them for their service to our country, but there is a point of too much military which we have reached in this country. We are sending in troops unnecessarily into many parts of the world, parts of the world I don’t need my “sorry butt” saved from. So, bite me!

I agree we should not be paying ANY tax dollars to illegal immigrants, WTF. Send them home, done. IDC if they have ‘family” here. They have broken into our country and robbed Americans of THEIR social services. So, yeah while we can agree on that we’ll have to disagree, there is no reason to carve out some fucking seats for some “mom” to sit in, just because she has a husband in the military. There are plenty of seats to go around in the airport. Seriously, think about it… I work in education, that’s a pretty noble job how about I get a special seat for helping to educate the kids of America that my generation seems to think is the “village’s” job and not theirs. I want a special seat for dealing with that BS. What about firefighters & cops?? They save our “sorry butts” too, maybe they should get special seats! Even the cop who pulled me over and was a rude asshole and lied on a ticket to charge me more money, how about he gets a seat too… I’m sure he is doing a noble job! What about doctors & nurses…? Fuck it, carve out some health care seats! I’m sure the TSA has stollen enough pocket change from our taxes to pay for it.

Do you see where this ends?

There is just as many people putting their life on the line or putting up with cracra jobs just like the Military does. Why should the Military get so much special treatment in public domain? (I’d like to emphasize PUBLIC DOMAIN)

If you want to give them health care, badass! lets make it happen! Help them with tax breaks, sure I’m down… but carve out places in the public where others are not good enough to be, because their families didn’t volunteer is asinine to me. The same “mom” with a non military husband is not good enough for a seat is BS.

“Unlike you poor offended, selfish parasites who thinks the world revolves around you,…”
Most Military guys act like the world does evolve around them. Where have you been? It takes a certain ego and personality to want to go shoot other people. That comment is soooo offensive and bias.

Draft comment… phhht….. No one is going to get drafted…

The comment about not seen an unborn child, is BS too. Again, they chose that. If Military people don’t like that then DON’T volunteer. It sucks, I’m sorry it happens, but that was their choice. They’ll meet their kid for Gods sake…

Military people getting screwed over…? Then stop voting for people who are doing it… guess what?!? The R’s and D’s are both “screwing” over the military. You should listen to more of this show, cuz if you did… you’d know that.

I voted all R this time. Not, because of their good job, but because I think the D’s have done such a shitty job. I wanted to send a clear “fuck you” D’s!

What we need are Libertarian Senators who are on the SIDE OF THE POEPLE. less Government means more power to the people. When was the last time R’s & D’s were on the side of the people or the Military men and women? I cannot remember… I don’t think it has been in my life time.

First, thank you for your comment and for checking out the show despite our clear differences in opinion on certain matters.

I’m guessing from your comments that you are not a regular listener to the show as I have been very clear that I do not identify with any political party or group. I think conversations like this one would be better held as two Americans, instead of “Progressive” vs. whatever you choose to call yourself. I am the only person whose opinions I will take responsibility for.

That said, I completely understand your point of view. In the grand scheme of things, you are right. $500,000 a year for chairs for military families is not a big deal. Please note that I am not encouraging anyone to try to stop it. As for the bill in question, you made a great point about disabled veterans although I would like to point out that we already have chairs and sections set aside for disabled Americans regardless of their disabilities’ origin.

We clearly have a difference in opinion on the value, however, of civilian workers such as firefighters, policemen, teachers, etc. Please understand that I do think military service is valuable – I said that in the show – I just have concerns about valuing war fighters OVER all other professions. Part of my fear is for the safety of our military service members. I do not want militarism in support of the industrial base to ever send brave individuals like yourself and my best friend into harms way ever again. A society that values service in war above all other actions is a society doomed to continue to go to war.

Right before I read your comment, I was working on the NDAA that was quietly and quickly passed by Congress right before the Christmas holiday and I noticed the cuts to military retirement that you speak of. I will absolutely highlight that in my next episode. My view is that the soldiers that go to war are workers, just like firefighters, doctors, etc. and it is ALWAYS the workers who get screwed while the companies get paid. The NDAA is a perfect example. There is extra money for tanks and drones that the military itself wants to retire but that well-paid Congressmen want to keep for their campaign contributors’ bottom line. In order to afford the gifts to industry, the people who put their lives on the line are getting screwed out of their retirement money. IT IS WRONG. Despite our differences, please know that I do not despise the military and, as an American worker, I am on your side.

Thank you for your service and for trying out Congressional Dish. I wish you all the best.

Why do you and your Progressive ilk despise our military personnel so much?

Before you lie and attempt to rationalize that you’re not a Progressive, you came right out during a previous podcast that you are for Big Government and your bias comes out during each of your podcasts.

Using $500,000 in spare change collected by the TSA to setup an area where our military personnel can relax between flights is the least we can do for these brave hero’s.

To equate firefighters and police officers on the same level as our military just goes to show how intellectually and morally bankrupt you Progressives really are.

Our firefighters and police offices serve and protect our communities, while our military personnel serve and protect our Country.

To use your example of a mother and three children slogging through an airport for the holidays, I can guarantee that it would be the military person who would be the first one to give up their chair for that mother, while you and the other progressives would still be sitting on your butts complaining and being offended that she couldn’t control her children.

You and your husband are both currently unemployed, you’re asking your listeners to help support your podcast and create an income for you. Here’s a common sense idea, why don’t both of you sign a blank check putting your life on the line to serve and protect this country!

While your spending this holiday with your family and getting the opportunity to meet your two nieces, take a moment and imagine the father who has yet to meet their newborn child, or the mother who isn’t home to feel her child’s arms around her, or the family spending another Christmas and New Year’s apart because their, son, daughter, mother or father has been deployed for the 3rd, 4th or 5th time.

When you have the time to review the Budget Bill for your next podcast, make sure you pay particular attention to that cut in military retirement, that military butt kissing perk also affects our disabled military personnel, that should make you and the other progressive’s happy that cuts are being made to those that have come home injured serving this great Country.

Because you don’t cover the Senate, an amendment was made by a nasty Republican to close a 4 Billion dollar fraud loophole paid for by the taxpayer and given out by the trust worthy government wealth taking office the IRS that allows illegal immigrants to receive a tax credit and have a portion of that applied to military retirement benefits wasn’t even allowed to come to the Senate floor to be voted on by the worthless Senate progressive Majority Leader Harry Reid. Illegal Progressive Voters keep their money but the military men and women get screwed over once again.

Here’s something for you and your progressives to think about, our military is an all volunteer force, keep screwing around with them and sometime in the not so distant future, your son, daughter, nieces and nephews could be drafted to protect your sorry butts.

Unlike you poor offended, selfish parasites who thinks the world revolves around you, our active duty personnel and veterans don’t expect or demand anything from you or the rest of the progressives who despise us, Just a simple and sincere Thank You for Serving, for which your not willing to do, will work just fine.

One thing you can count on from us “far right wing terrorists, radical, anarchist, subversive conservatives” is we will make sure we remind the voters which progressive and republican establishment Representatives and Senators voted for the Budget Bill during the 2014 midterm elections. Congress needs more Senators like Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul and Jeff Sessions. The House definitely needs more Representatives like Louie Gohmert.

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
    Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

    Strike Eagle.
